Photos: Miami police officer who shot unarmed black therapist Charles Kinsey identified as Jonathan Aledda

Miami Police has officially revealed the name of the police officer who this week shot and wounded Charles Kinsey, a black man who was unarmed and worked as a Therapist for autistic patients.

North Miami city manager Larry M. Spring said Officer Jonathan Aledda, 30, a member of Miami's SWAT unit who has served on the force for four years is responsible for mistakenly shooting Charles Kinsey while the therapist rushed to the aid of his troubled patient.

According to Larry Spring, Aledda's identity wasn't revealed at first due to the death threats he's been receiving since footage of the shooting went viral online.

Spring also revealed that a second police officer, Cmdr. Emile Hollant, has been suspended without pay for giving conflicting statements about the events surrounding the shooting while Aledda has already been placed on administrative leave.
