Groom weds bride in surprise ceremony after planning for 8 months


A newlywed groom in New Zealand proposed and married his bride in two days after planning surprise wedding ceremony for eight months.

Moses Atigi proposed to Chanel Whareumu, his girlfriend of nine years and he put a ring on her finger in front of his family and friends two days later.


It came as a complete surprise to the bride and all she had to do was pick a perfect wedding dress for her.
"I feel very blessed that he took the initiative to plan this entire thing for us with my family, to make me happy,"

"Most women wouldn't like the idea of their partner planning their whole wedding but it takes the stress away, I'm glad I won't be a bridezilla," Chanel told New Zealand Herald.
The groom and bride who tied the knot on Thursday, have a son together.

Speaking of her engagement, Whareumu told New Zealand Herald that she came back home to find petals scattered on the floor and chair. Moses had put on a slide show which featured himself and their son expressing love to her before asking her to be his wife.

The catering, hair and makeup had all been planned by Mr. Atigi who said he didn't want his wife to become a 'bridezilla' while trying to organize their wedding because she is a perfectionist.
